Shannon Rose Lang Daniel
GREENBRIER, Tenn. [ndash] Shannon Rose Lang Daniel, 66, of Greenbrier, Tenn. passed away Oct. 5, 2019, at her residence surrounded by family following a lengthy battle with breast cancer. A private service will be held at a later date with inurnment at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Newton, Miss.
Shannon, the oldest of five children, was born July 2, 1953, in Meridian, Miss., to Huey Parker Lang and Fannie "Rose" Pullin Lang.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Clyde Daniel; her father and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Lang and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Pullin.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Jason (Brittany) Daniel of Greenbrier, Tenn., and Kelly (Mark) Burton of Hendersonville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jayden Daniel, Kylee Daniel, Madison Daniel, Sean Burton, Briana Burton, Brandon Kennedy and Katelyn Burton; siblings, Jill (Mickey) Gavin, Lisa (Johnny) Harris, Jenny (Steve) Lesley and Peter (Beth) Lang; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shannon graduated with honors from Meridian High School in 1971 and attended Meridian Community College. She was active in school activities as well as youth activities at Parkview Church of God where she and Joe were married in 1972. She was a career Navy wife who traveled extensively with the military while raising two children. Once settling in Greenbrier, she worked in the medical field as an office clerk.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put her family first. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. Her spirit was strong even after fighting breast cancer for 28 years. Although she went through numerous rounds of chemotherapy, radiation therapy and clinical trials, she would always smile and say she was fine when asked. She was our hero!!

Shannon was my oldest niece. . .What a joy she was to our family.....Through the years she has endured many heartaches with breast cancer, but much joy as she became a Wife,Mother, and Grandmother!!! Coming from a close family, I have many wonderful memories of sweet Shannon.
She will always be in my heart!!!

Shannon is my niece and my hero. I will never forget her sweet spirit, strength, perseverance, and good outlook on life in the midst of her struggles and suffering. You have been such an inspiration to me and i’m Sure to so many others. I’ll see you in Heaven one day!
