Services for Ted M. Adkins will be held 3 pm, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union with burial in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in House. Bro. Michael Bradley will officiate.
Mr. Adkins, 63, of Union died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center .
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Adkins of Union; three sons, Jonathan Adkins of Union; Carl Adkins (Chris) of Brandon and Tim Adkins (Beth) of Meridian; two daughters, Deanna Savell (Greg) of Decatur and Felicity Chance of Hickory; his mother, Mary Adkins of Meridian, a stepson, Lucas Cleveland (Donna) of Union; a stepdaughter, Kristin McDonald (Josh) of Conehatta; 13 grandchildren, a brother: Mark Adkins (Ginny) of Meridian; a sister, Lisa Adkins Jenkins (Phil) of Meridian, and a niece and two nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kim Adkins and his father, Mondell Adkins.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Posey, Terry Winstead, Dale Yates, Danny Shoemaker, Alan Terrell and Ken Black.
Ted was proud to be a paramedic and was well-known and respected by several generations of EMS personnel. A highlight of his life was serving his community on the Union and Decatur Fire Departments and serving as the Newton County Deputy Coroner. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. For the past three years, he enjoyed tending to his blackberries, blueberries and chickens.
