Thomas Cecil Luke Sr (Tom) Obituary

Spanish Fort, Alabama - Thomas Cecil Luke Sr, 80, passed away at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama on Sunday, February 1, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Cecil Luke, father, Earl Hermon Luke, his sister, Becky Luke, and daughter-in-law, Michele Strickland Luke.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anne Pigford Luke, Spanish Fort, Alabama, daughter Leslie Susanne Johnson, Raliegh, North Carolina, son Thomas Luke Jr., Fairhope, Alabama, granddaughter Mary Odum Luke, Marietta, Georgia, granddaughter Ann Thomas Luke, Spanish Fort, Alabama, brother Billy Luke (Barbara), Jefferson, Georgia, sister Susie Luke, Brandon, Mississippi, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi in 1946, Tommy graduated from Meridian High School in 1964 and received a BS in accounting from Mississippi College. He went on to work as an auditor for the State of Mississippi and eventually moved to Livingston, Alabama to serve as City Administrator, where he retired after 25 years.

Tommy was a devoted member and deacon of LFBC for over 40 years, where he held various positions throughout his life. After serving the Lord, his greatest joy in life was his granddaughters. From dance recitals to softball games, he never missed an opportunity to be their biggest supporter. Known for his sense of humor and generosity, he never met a stranger and strived to be a friend to all. He loved supporting the underdog except for when it came to watching tennis with his wife or talking about football with his brother.

We want to give a special thank you to Angel Wings Comfort Care. Our appreciation also goes to Susan Beeco for her support during this difficult time. Most importantly, to our son Tom Jr., I could not have made it through this without you.

A graveside celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, February 5th at 1pm at Myrtlewood Cemetery in Livingston, Alabama.

Pallbearers include all of his nephews; Dave Harbour, Reed Pigford, Matt Luke, Steve Harbour, Scott Pigford, Mark Pigford.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes, Westonwood Ranch, and LFBC Youth Ministry.
