Funeral services for William A. "Bert" Evans, 73, of Butler will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Butler with Rev. Ray Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the church from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. prior to the service.

Mr. Evans passed away Monday, June 27th at Anderson's Hospital in Meridian, MS. He was a retired banker.

Survivors include his wife Ellen Evans of Butler; sons William Dansby Evans of San Francisco, CA; Henry Harris "Hank" Evans (Chrystie) of Bowling Green, KY; and Albert Bowen "Bo" Evans (Jenny) of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren William Harris Evans, Stephen Ross Evans, Lucy Bowen Evans, Henry Fairbanks Evans, Benjamin Vaughan Evans, and Rebecca Ellen Evans; sister Ann Evans Bates of Butler, AL; brother James Dansby "Jim" Evans of Butler, AL; and sister Marcita Evans Smith of Tuscaloosa, AL.

Pallbearers are Lee McPhearson, Steve Harris, Patton Smith, Will Smith, Evans Smith, and Jay Evans.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Butler at PO Box 538, Butler, Alabama 36904 or the Choctaw County Public Library at 124 North Academy Avenue, Butler, Alabama 36904.
